Support-Group Member Asks: I didn't fail the holiday test but I was wondering if anyone else has experienced "frozen shoulder" brought on by their diabetes? If you have and wouldn't mind sharing I am curious to hear what your doctor suggested you could do about it. At the moment I am doing 3 different shoulder exercises and taking Vioxx. Hope everyone in the group is doing great. Support-Group Member Responds: When I experienced FS I had not yet been diagnosed with Diabetes. It seems doctors are not up on the fact that it can be a symptom of Diabetes. Diabetes Assoc should make this more public. Anyway I went thru 6 mos of physical training to no avail - 6 mos after having stopped the physical therapy it just went away on its own.. I'm now told that that is usually the case after taking control of my diabetes. Good Luck Support-Group Member Responds: I had frozen shoulder for four years, went to all kinds of doctors, took everything. It went away on it's own. Still hurts some at times but not like it did. Hang in there. |
